You mentioned not wanting a smoothie in cold weather. I used to love smoothies but I found over time that just having a drink left me wanting something that FELT more substantial.

I started doing smoothies again (fruit, veggies and nuts, mostly) a few weeks ago (in the midst of very cold weather!) and found a little trick that worked for me.

You might want to try this:

I put the fruit in first, along with leafy greens, and blend it thoroughly.

Then I add things like carrots and celery (not too much celery or it will be quite bitter!) and nuts and only blend it a moderate amount (you'll have to experiment and see what works for you). I also add coconut milk powder for thickening.

I love it! I have a soup for lunch, and the smoothie. is great for a gentle dessert - SLOWLY drinking AND chewing it. Together they keep me satiated, and it's SO easy to have soups and smoothies. I may add a salad for dinner and have the rest of the large soup I made earlier in the day.

Total prep time for all 3 meals - about 10 minutes.
