Hey Eric: all good points. I have a question about Noom, which you mentioned in one of the comments. As far as I know, I think you're correct that there's nothing new in the approach to eating they recommend.
the CBT (cognitive behavioral approach) they use is also nothing new, but as far as I'm aware, CBT is rather rarely used to help people with eating, and when combined with things like mindfulness (otherwise CBT can be presented superficially as a rather rational, overly logical approach) it seems the research is pretty good for it.
I'm curious how much you know about Noom in particular, and about mindfulness and CBT to help people develop more healthy eating habits.
