The thing is, as research is continuing to show, our attitudes and beliefs (not necessarily conscious attitudes/beliefs but deeply held subconscious ones) have profound effects on hormones (as well as on the gut biome, which is a different issue). It's much more likely that stressing about waking up is going to negatively impact hormones than the simple fact of waking up.

Besides, the research is almost unanimous that everyone wakes up briefly between 4 to 6 times a night.

It's not about waking up per se; it's about awareness and attention. If your awareness is calm and attention stably focused in a peaceful sense of simply being present, your sleep will be deep and restorative, no matter what else is going on.
