Still, it's different for each person. I discovered my blood pressure had gone up way too much, back in 2003.

I simply chose to eat whole foods, and 1500 calories a day. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months and have effortlessly kept it off since.

On the other hand, having shrunk an inch by my late 60s, I have wanted to lose just 15 more pounds, and nothing - keto, paleo, flexitarian, DASH, Mediterranean, vegan, made even a pound of difference.

2 things have worked: Doing more HIIT, and intermittent fasting (alternating 2 meals a day and one meal a day). Effortless. Down from 170 to 160 in one month, patiently expecting 5 more in the next few weeks and that's it. ,

It may not work for you. All of it, everything I've done, is based in intuitive eating combined with the above, by the way.

Oh, and from 160/100 the BP has gone down to about 125/80. I do take one low dose pill a day though my doctor said I can stop if I want. Perhaps as the weight stabilizes in the mid 150s I'll do that.
