QUESTION: Years ago, when being treated for high blood pressure, i was given a device to take home over night (apologies, I don't remember the name) to test for sleep apnea. It came out negative but I've wondered all these years.

For treatment of prehypertension (130s/80s) I've tried numerous medications (BP numbers are still in the same range), all kinds of complementary medicine, including Chinese and Ayurveda, every kind of supplement (calcium, magnesium, potassium and MANY more) as well as losing 30 pounds in 3 months 20 years ago and keeping it off (normal weight now), and LOTS of exercise.

Nothing's made any difference. Way back, simple breathing exercises brought it down to 110/70, but that didn't continue.

I've always wondered if sleep might hold the key. I use Snorex, which my wife says has virtually eliminated my snoring (and the FDA approves it for sleep apnea.

So, having said all of that, do you think I should still schedule an overnight sleep test, just in case that might be the key to lowering the blood pressure?
