Of course, if you understand that "meditation" or "mindfulness" is not a 'technique" but a state of mind, then optic flow, window gazing and being out in nature foster meditative states of mind.

It's quite simple. you don't need any technique, neither mantra or optic flow, neither breath awareness or window gazing, neither "awareness of awareness" or being out in nature.

All 6 of those 'techniques" can help, but once you become familiar with the shift to simple open, heartful awareness, it can occur any time, any place, with or without a "technique" - whether a traditional "meditation" technique or something like window gazing, optic flow or simply being in nature.
