Now, Egis, I do have a follow up question. Though I've always doubted that IF by itself was anything special. do you know anything about longer term fasting - both for weight loss and lowering blood pressure?
I don't need to lose any weight, and I just have mild hypertension, but my reading of the research is that it is possible (not definite, just possible) that doing maybe once or twice a month of a 36 or 48 hour fast (nothing but liquids) might be helpful for lowering blood pressure.
Any ideas on this? I do about 10 hours a week of exercise, including regular aerobics (at nearly 70 my knees and feet don't like running even though I love it; so I do rebounding and walking at moderate levels and some HIIT, as well as esistance training, and dynamic stretching). I also eat mostly simple, whole foods.
