Many of the comments are a reflection of what this article is talking about.

My favorite example is a medium writer who insists he considers Dr. David Ludwig a wholly reliable source, insists that you don't need carbohydrates at all to be healthy, and when shown QUOTES from David Ludwig saying you need carbohydrates to be healthy, becomes irate or simply changes the subject.

(I modified Pollan's statement from "mostly plants" to "more plants' because if you quote the original, the orthorexia nervosa sufferers will react badly.

I think Pollan's statement, modified, is as close to universal as there can be.

And you know what? If you eat too much occasionally, or not enough plants, or processed food, enjoy it.
