Just a suggestion for folks who have tried limiting carbs (under 20 net carbs daily) and found they didn't lose weight.

Ok, wait - shocking revelation: if you don't mind, for just one month, wait for it - count calories:>)))

I know, everyone hates this. After 20 years of trying otherwise, I bit the bullet. 30 pounds overweight. Chose 1500 daily calories - lost 30 pounds in 3 months and have kept it off for 20 years.

I know, anecdotal - but virtually every high quality research study I've seen supports this. It's true - most people hate it and generally are not good at it. But if nothing else works, try it. Every time I've needed to lose a little weight (you know, holidays when you put on a few pounds) this has worked. And it's true - over 65 and your metabolism is slower, it's harder, but can be done.

Keeping a daily exercise routine - daily walks, HIIT, strength training regular stretching - has also been, in my experience, a must.
