If you let go of the form and realize the essence of meditation - stepping outside of the content of your experience into the context - you'll realize there's actually only one essence of meditation even though it takes endless forms.
Steven Hayes' ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) speaks of the distinction of context and content, though you can find the same in any book on Vedanta, Christian contemplative prayer or just about any genuine contemplative tradition.
