If you haven't tried working with a specialist you might reconsider.
I'm certified in CBT-I and I can tell you, it's NOT simply choosing certain hours and then trying to stick to it. Markham did a very good job of summarizing it but in practice, it can take 4 to 6 weeks of VERY careful record keeping and attentiveness to a number of factors.
see if working with a certified specialist helps! (by the way, it works almost without fail for about 50% but in the past 10 years or so it HAS been found that IN COMBINATION WITH (not leaving out CBT I) mindfulness and other practices, it has been even more successful, up to 70 to 80% cure rate.
