I tried following a very long conversation between Benjamin Cain and another commenter.
Some obervations:
The standard model of physics only deals with "time" as an abstraction, which is entirely different from lived time, which if you wish to consider this as a possibility rather than an obvious conclusion, is not necessarily limited to human beings or animals, but may have something to do with the nature of the universe, a nature which is infinitely more complex than anything modern methods of science are equipped to address, much less understand.
Regarding scientific concepts of time and lived experience, it is a very common misunderstanding that Eckhart Tolle is addressing the "present moment" - that is, the infinitesimal point of present moment experience. he is, like his chosen namesake, Meister Eckhart, using the passing present moment as a "portal" to point (like the Zen finger pointing at the moon, not to be confused with the pointing finger) toward an Eternal Reality which is neither in Time nor Timeless.
