Hi David - thanks for your remarks. I tried close to a dozen medications over 7 years before I found a thiazide diuretic (Chlorthalidone) that worked.
Regarding this century's recommendations for the proper BP levels, it's been interesting My BP is always higher at the office, and I'm one of my doctors most rigorously careful patients, so he let's me take the BP at home and report it to the office.
My doctor says he's fine with me leveling off the meds - I'm usually about 130/80 with the meds, and it creeps up over several weeks to low 140s and low 90s without it. I'm sticking with the meds for now.
I've tried almost every BP recommendation except 1-2 day fasts. I notice when I stick with a no-snacking between meals, IF (16/8 or 20/4) routine, the BP does get a bit lower.
Later this summer I'm going to try 36 and 48 hour fasts. I'll drop a note and let folks know if it works.
