Hi Daryl

Fascinating. You'll find people online familiar with McGilchrist's work who claim all sorts of different political views associated with the left or right hemisphere.

Andrew did a beautiful job, in case you missed it, of pointing out that there IS a left-brain contingent on the Left (safe spaces, political correctness, and all that)

And there IS an organic, natural, open contingent on the Right.

i think rather thank making a kind of left hemisphere "conservative = x, liberal = y" type equation, it's actually (typically of the right hemisphere view) FAR more fluid and complex than that.

At the very least, it is kind of a fun game to find both types on either side of the spectrum

LEFT HEMISPHERE

right wing fascist and corporate types

Left wing nihilistic atheist, Marxist types

RIGHT HEMISPHERE

traditionalist conservatives who love the beauty, complexity of tradition yet are open to slow, deeply contemplative change

anarchic libertarians on the far left who understand it is essential to integrate deeply spiritual contemplative views with politics and economics

(you can probably tell from the descriptions which hemisphere I tend to favor:>))
