I did an under 20gm carb keto diet for 2 months (no grains, no legumes; only berries for fruit, no starchy vegetables). Didn't lose a pound.
Did 1500 calories a day, 2003, lost 30 pounds in 3 months and kept it off.
6 months ago, started alternating 2 meals a day with no snacks, and one meal a day. Lost 10 pounds in 1 month and have kept it off since.
Very individual, depending on each person's unique physiological AND psychological makeup.
