Excellent article. One scientific point:

Despite the linked article to comments by a Harvard doctor, it is still the consensus of most researchers that the effect of melatonin is largely due to placebo (since placebo effects can increase the output of melatonin in the brain, perhaps this is not such a major distinction).

If you learn CBT-I and mindfulness and related breathing and relaxation practices, you're going to have much better coping skills for dealing with jet lag and other time-related difficulties than relying on an external supplement.
