Excellent answer, Casper. It's how we're thinking about consciousness that is the problem. We've gotten so used to a purely third person approach that it's hard to grasp the fundamental importance of the first person approach.

Even harder for many of us to grasp is that ALL third person approaches are based ultimately on the first person approach - but the reverse is not the case.
