Einstein had the same misunderstanding as the folks here, so obviously, high level training in physics does not necessarily give you insight into basic philosophic thinking (and no, mathematical logic will not help either).
Does SOMETHING exist when I (don's individual mind) am not looking at it. Casper NEVER even hinted at such an absurd thing.
But think carefully - when you say "the moon" exists when no human being is looking at it.
What do you mean by "moon"?
if you mean something which, when human beings perceive it, exists when human beings do not perceive it, I don't think Casper disagrees.
But I don't think that's what you mean. By "moon" you're referring to the percept, which exists in consciousness, (whether you're referring to the consciousness of Don or Casper or Tim or whoever, or Neil Armstrong, or a non human consciousness, it's the same thing).
The question is not whether something exists apart from human consciousness but independent of ANY consciousness.
