Steven Weinberg, who won the Nobel Prize in physics in 1977, was talking to a friend of his over 20 years later, a physicist friend. The friend said, “you know Steven, science doesn’t really explain anything, it only describes.”
Dr. Weinberg wrote an essay for the New York Review of Books about his thoughts on being shocked by his friend’s statement. It’s called “Does Science Explain Everything? Anything?”
