By the way, you didn't mention the widespread recognition that at present, AI tends to discriminate against women and minorities as certain prejudicial algorithms seem to be built in at present.

The other thing - not as much related to computers but to human frailty - is the importance of making factual information about disability widely available.

When I started disability evaluations, back in 2003, the Republicans here in the US were just beginning a campaign of unabashed lies about fraud in disability applications.

I researched this extensively, and while other areas of social welfare may have frequent occurrences of fraud, Dr. Loren Pankratz, the leading malingering expert in the US, estimated that at most, fraud occurs about 5% of the time among applicants.

in my own experience, I would say "lying" occurs much more often - but NOT in the direction of MORE disability but LESS.

To put it in plain language, people generally hate applying for disability ,and will actually lie - meaning, DOWNPLAY their symptoms. I found most of my job involved making people feel comfortable enough and safe enough to share their worst moments and worst behaviors with a stranger.

Our international welfare system is shameful. It should be SO much easier to get help when it is genuinely needed.
