As I wrote in another comment, you really have developed what most sleep researchers have recommended to be one of the most powerful ways to get to sleep easily - a 'wind down' period before sleep in which you have a kind of digital sabbath and nightly vacation from worry and everyday concerns.
The methods almost don't matter as much, as long as they work for you. The body scan - or any way of tuning into the body after a day of hauling our bodies along with us as we use our mind and emotions to deal with whatever challenges come up .
Funny that getting in touch with the body becomes such a powerful way to LET GO of the body as we drift to sleep. The gratitude, loving kindness and rose-thorn-bud review of the day - also so wonderfully powerful and such a liberation; a great way of letting go of concerns bout good-bad-improvement, etc.
