as a musician I've long been interested in therapeutic effects of music. Looking at the research over many decades, I haven't found anything that looks like a "magic bullet."

Several commenters here swear by white or brown noise, or low volume music. And if it helps them that's wonderful. My sense looking at all the research is - just as with food and exercise and sleep in general - it's going to be a highly individualized approach that's best.

Just as keto works well for some and has a terrible effect on others, similarly with different types of sound.
